Meet Your Inspector
My name is Bill Goodson. At an early age, my dad put me to work taking apart obsolete or worn-out electrical instruments he brought home from work—carefully saving every spring, washer, and bolt. What started as a way to keep me busy quickly became a passion for hands-on work, attention to detail, and understanding how things are supposed to function.
That early curiosity eventually led me to earn a Mechanical Engineering degree and begin my first career in Corporate America, where I spent nearly 30 years. During that time, I continued building on those foundational skills while also gaining experience leading teams, working across cultures, and learning the importance of clear communication and strong client relationships.
Recently, my wife Janelle, our two pups—Max and Odie—and I were fortunate to relocate closer to family here in the Huntsville/Madison area. Over the past year, I have completed more than 400 hours of home inspector training, passed both the National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE) and the ASHI Code of Ethics Exam, earned my Certified Professional Inspector (CPI) certification through InterNACHI, and completed over 35 ride-along inspections with InterNACHI Certified Master Home Inspectors in the area.
At this stage of my career, I truly believe this is what I was meant to do. It would be an honor to put my training, experience, and attention to detail to work for you—helping you clearly understand your home so you can move forward with confidence.

Trained by InterNACHI®, the world’s largest nonprofit association for property inspectors, I have undergone extensive training and qualification processes, including the Inspector Exam and adhering to a thorough Standards of Practice. I maintain my good standing through accredited Continuing Education courses, ensuring I stay current with industry advancements.
As a graduate of the InterNACHI® School's Home Inspector Certificate Program, I cover all aspects of a home's interior and exterior, from foundational elements to heating and cooling systems, roofing, plumbing, and electrical infrastructure. My thorough inspections uncover defects that could impact your investment, from minor repairs to major structural damage and safety issues.
